1.) national convention is called every 4 years to officially nominate presidential candidates, adopt part platform, stir up popular support.

2.) Primaries are what each party uses to select its nomination for president.

3.) delegate selection process is now a proportional representation system.

4.) caucus is a closed meeting of a political party to select delegates to the national convention.

5.) on the second day of the convention the keynote is addressed.

6.) governors are typically presidents, used to come from the senate.
